In addition to the Nike Air Force 1/1, it looks like the Air Jordan 1 Low will take part of the brand’s “Nike And The Mighty Swooshers” collection inspired by anime.Years prior, anime was only enjoyed in secret for fear of ridicule. But that has changed dramatically in the short time since as people shout the names of Seinen protagonists across Demon Slayer: Mugen Train showings nation-wide. And this has largely influenced the designs of both clothing and footwear, with Nike soon to follow suit as they usher in their “Nike And The Mighty Swooshers” collection.
The Air Jordan 1 Low is taking on a pretty pink scheme, the uppers likely nod to the hair colour of the characters among the The Mighty Swooshes. Additionally, the side Swoosh wears a hairy finish, providing the focal point to the design – at least at first glance. Look to the sole and things seem pretty standard, however, hidden behind a translucent outsole is a graphic of red anime eyes. If you’re familiar with Demon Slayer or the ‘Sharingan’ from Naruto, the illustration will definitely strike a chord.
Compared to the colorways previous, this Jordan Westbrook One Take II is far more varied, aggressively alternating between both of the aforementioned shades. The mesh base, which dresses from the toe through to the heel, opts for the bolder of the two, setting the stage at full volume. Things only begin to quiet over top, as the taping, webbing, overlays, and laces darken to a deep black. White accents sit adjacent, though they’re far less present relative to the deep golds of the eyelets, contrast stitching, and tongue label.
