Following the first two releases of the “Shattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1s, Retro Jordan is set to release a third iteration for the Fall 2019 season. Like the previous pairs, the sneaker’s colorway is a tribute to the Michael Jordan’s dunk in 1985 during a Nike exhibition tour when he shattered the backboard. The shoe is covered in a colorway of Black, Pale Vanilla, and Starfish, with black and orange as the most dominant hues across the upper. Finally, a sail midsole, wings logo across the ankles, orange Nike Air branded tongues and black rubber outsole tops it off.
This New Jordan 2019 colorway pays tribute to when Michael Jordan shattered the backboard by dunking during a Nike exhibition game in 1985. The legend colorway nods to when Michael Jordan shattered the backboard with one of his iconic slam dunks during a Nike exhibition tour back in 1985. Branding on the shoe comes in the form of midfoot Swooshes, Wings motifs at the ankle and “Nike Air” tongue tags. Elevating the upper is a vintage sail midsole paired with a contrasting black rubber outsole.
The Nike Shoes sports a clean White Flyknit upper detailed with shimmering Metallic Silver accents on the Swoosh and heel clip. A darker shade of Grey appear on the tongue, insole and heel tab completed with a clear VaporMax sole unit. The third iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG once again references when MJ shattered a backboard while dunking during a Nike exhibition tour back in 1985. This time around, the classic court model features a smooth black leather base accented by orange overlays and perforated toeboxes.
