First info obtained by HOUSE OF HEAT has the SP (special-edition) pair set to arrive in an intriguing mix of Desert Moss, Turquoise Blue, and Dark Iris, which sound very ACG-inspired. Both have a similar build to last year’s Union x Air Jordan 4 releases, while these “30th Anniversary” pairs comes constructed in a mix of mesh and suede with translucent wings returning. Other details includes signature Yellow UN/LA lateral tags, pre-folded tongues and frontman-branded hangtags that read 1991-2021 in a shape of a road sign. Co-branded insoles atop a Sail rubber sole completes the designs.
Jordan Release 2020, The Air Jordan 5 “Georgetown Hoyas” PE was part of a larger player exclusive collection designed for 2021’s March Madness. Navy blue, the Hoyas’ other signature shade, is placed on the tongue and appears on the heel’s Nike Air branding. Tongues also feature an embroidered Georgetown Basketball logo. Further detail is provided by translucent mesh netting on each quarter panel and the throat, a blue lace toggle surrounded by a clear holder and white laces. On the tongues and outsoles, we get the classic “G” logo, and on this pair we get a Dark Navy Blue silk suede tongue atop a White midsole and icy translucent outsole.
2020 Jordans, Rumored to be under 40 in existence, this Air Jordan 5 is one of the most rare of the series and comes dressed in a Grey custom elephant printed suede. Thus, the timing of Sole On Canvas’ latest custom couldn’t be more fitting. Utilizing the Air Jordan 5 “Oreo” as a base, this “Hoyas” custom triumphs with a strong grey and silver blended upper paired with black and obsidian accents at the tongue, eyelets, and midsole. The Hoyas logo and “G” find placement at the rear while an icy outer caps things below.
