2019 will be the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 4, and the Jumpman has corresponding plans in store for the 1989 original. Last released in 2012, the Air Jordan 4 Fire Red features a white leather upper with black and fire red detailing placed throughout the shoe. It is believed that the 2019 pair will also come with Nike Air branding on the heel as a nod to the OG pair that dropped in 1989.
As far as Jordan Brand is concerned, 2018 has been the year of the Air Jordan 3, as it is celebrating its 30th anniversary. This has brought back a plethora of original colorways the likes of the “Black/Cement”, while also introducing new aesthetics by way of Tinker Hatfield’s original design sketch. In similar fashion, Next year will be the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 4 which means we can expect Jordan Brand to drop a few gems of the legendary silhouette. In addition to the Bred colorway returning, new rumors have just surfaced that the OG Fire Red colorway is also one of the pairs that is expected to make a return in 2019.
The Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” is rumored to release during 2019 which Jordan Brand will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary. Also launching around the same time is the “Bred” Air Jordan 4. Michael Jordan wore the “Fire Red” Air Jordan 4s during home and away games during the first half of the 1989-90 NBA season. Featuring a clean White leather upper with Black detailing and Fire Red accents. For the 2019 Retro, this will be the first time since 1989 that the colorway will be returning in its Nike Air format.
