Italy’s World Cup jerseys
We already have the new Italy team jersey, the Kids PSG Football Kit and we want to take this opportunity to review the most iconic jerseys worn by Italians in the history of the Football World Cup. When we talk about the “Azzurri,” we’re talking about a team with one of the most remarkable histories in world football. It all started in 1934 with the World Cup in Italy, where the host team was crowned champion.
We continue with France 1938, where the Azzurri were once again crowned champions, with blue as their primary kit and black as their secondary kit. Classic, simple, and very similar jerseys.
For the 1950 World Cup in Brazil, a new crest appeared, and the jersey followed the style of the era with a distinctive collar. The white jersey with a blue stripe was also seen as the second kit, replacing the black jersey.
In Brazil 2014, we saw a very retro design with a very pronounced polo collar, touches of the Italian flag on the sleeves and a very fitted cut which attracted a lot of attention, but which did not have a great sporting impact.
And we finish with the last jersey designed by adidas for 2026, with Italy on the verge of qualification, which we hope to see at the next World Cup.
